Charles R. Church is a human rights lawyer who for years has focused on detention, torture, Guantánamo, habeas corpus and similar subjects. He is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Policy and Research at Seton Hall Law School, which has published widely respected investigative reports about Guantánamo. His regular columns, under the rubric “Field Notes from a Battleground” are published by The Lakeville Journal and its two sister papers in northwest Connecticut. He also has been invited to teach, speak and to participate in panel discussions on his human rights work and other legal subjects.
